Hailsham Horticultural Society

OVERVIEW
Hailsham Horticultural Society commissioned me to create a new visual identity and supporting promotional materials for their annual Mega Show. The project aimed to modernise the Society’s brand while reflecting its values of gardening, community engagement and environmental stewardship. The resulting identity provides a distinctive and recognisable presence across both event and organisational communications.

ABOUT THIS PROJECT
The project began with research into horticultural organisations, including the Royal Horticultural Society, to understand the visual language commonly used within the sector. This research highlighted themes such as growth, nature, sustainability, care and craftsmanship, which informed the development of the creative concept.

Drawing on these themes, I designed a logo featuring cupped hands holding an emerging seedling, symbolising nurturing, growth and new beginnings. A nature-inspired colour palette centred around green was paired with complementary earthy tones to create warmth and visual balance, while elegant serif typography helped establish a more refined and premium brand identity.

Following the development of the visual identity, I created a suite of promotional materials for the Mega Show, including posters, flyers and social media graphics. Applied consistently across print and digital channels, these assets helped create a cohesive campaign that increased visibility for the event and strengthened the Society’s overall brand presence.
